⍕ Sex Astrology: The Houses ⍕

    Sex is ruled by the 5th House. There you will find sex, romance, & pleasure in the general sense. However, every house in Astrology has a hand in sex! Basically, each house will have an influence on how you treat & react to things related to sex. In this post, I'm just going to do some short descriptions on how each house can influence your behavior towards sex, & I'm going to use myself & my chart as an example. I will include some personal bits that I don't mind sharing because it helps to have readers relate & identify how the houses play a part in their sex life. So anyways, lets talk about it!

The 1st House is YOU.

So in relation to sex, it would control your sexual appeal, how you look, your body type, & your overall energy.

For Ex: I'm a Cancer Ascendant & the 1H ruler is my 4H Libra Moon. 

- My sexual appeal is overall in my face (1H & Libra) & mostly in my eyes & breasts (4H & Cancer).

In sex, the 2nd House would rule over your sexual needs, expectations, values, & confidence.

2H also includes masturbation & the sexual relationship that you have with yourself (self love!). Whatever love we have for ourselves is what we take into the 8H to surrender to our partners.

Ex: Leo rules my 2H which is empty, so we look to the Sun, it's ruler, which is in my Capricorn 7H tightly conjunct my Descendant.

- Romance & passion is expected from a sexual partner for me. My sexual partner has to be into me & loyal (Characteristics of both Capricorn & Leo) to me. Also, I enjoy masturbation more when I'm doing it with, or in mind of a partner (7H).

The 3rd House rules over communication & the mind, so in sex this will describe the way you flirt, dirty talk, sext, send nudes, etc. This house expresses your sexual values & needs from the 2H. 

Ex: Virgo & Mercury rule my 3H (empty). 

- Normally, a Virgo 3H would love dirty talk & sending nudes due to Mercury. (I also find that Virgo energy when discussing sex topics are almost always voyeurs!!!) However, Mercury is Retrograde in my Natal Chart & it aspects my 4H Moon-Chiron conjunction, so it's awkward for me & I am insecure about it.

The 4th House = roots, home, & security, so that would mean that it covers what you are comfortable with during sex. The 4H is also a house of purity, so having certain placements here or harsh aspects to any placements here may make someone practice abstinence.  

Ex: I have a Libra 4H with The Moon, Chiron, & the North Node conjunct in it. The House Ruler Venus is in the sign of Aquarius in the 8H.

- I will be down to try anything (8H = taboo) but I would like communication (Characteristic of Air Signs) & to make sure we are both satisfied (Libra). BUT! Things have to be on my own time (Aquarius) & I have to be reassured that things are okay so that I am comfortable (4H, The Moon, & Chiron). To add to the purity bit, placements here can cause a low libido & with my placements here, I am still abstinent & I have a wonky libido.

The 5th house rules sex, romance, pleasure & attraction. It will show what kind of people are sexually attracted to you & vise versa. This is a house of surface-level attraction though. It can get deep, but this is initial attraction & depending on your placements, this will mainly be your initial wants but not your needs. 

Ex: I have a Scorpio 5H that has Pluto in it but in the sign of Sagittarius, & the ruler of the house Mars in Aquarius but in my Capricorn 7H.

- This means that there's a direct correlation between my sexual partners (5H) & my committed partners (7H). It also shows that I attract & are attracted to Scorpio placements & heavy Martian people. This is actually interesting because I lack lots of Martian qualities due to my Libra energy. It also means that I'd enjoy various kinks with my partner (Scorpio 5H/Aquarius 7H Mars, which are both kinky/unusual signs) & that we may implement power dynamics (Pluto).

The 6th House is routine, health, & work, so obviously this represents sexual health (mental & physical). 

Ex: I have a Sagittarius 6H & it's ruler Jupiter in the 6H, sign of Capricorn.

- Physically, the places that I'd need to keep an eye on during sex is my hips (Sagittarius), stomach (6H), & skin (Capricorn). I bruise easily & I have a sensitive stomach, so my partner will have to watch these areas cause they will be the most sensitive (for pleasure but to also be careful with). Mentally, sexual situations have caused a wound/insecurity for me. My 6H Capricorn Jupiter is square my Moon-Chiron conjunction in the 4H. Others have to tread carefully & slowly (Capricorn) with me when engaging in sexual activity lest they want to hurt me & open up wounds (Chiron).

The 7th House is easy because it rules partners. Where & how we engage with 1-on-1 relationships & partners directly. But whereas 5H = initial sexually attracted partners, 7H = your truly desired partner. 

Ex: I have a 7H Capricorn, ruled by my 9H Pisces Saturn. 

- My ideal partner is one who is straightforward in their sexual desires. Slow, sensual, committed (Capricorn). However, 9H Pisces makes them manifest far away from me. 9H Saturn also makes my ideal partner more knowledgeable than I am in sex. More experienced. Older than I am. But I want sexual encounters to be unconditional & still full of passion (Pisces).

THE 8H IS NOT THE HOUSE THAT RULES SEX! 

But! It is the house of depth & intimacy. It is the house that covers the sex that you actually want with your partner. It's the 2nd house from the 7H. So if 2H = personal wants/needs, then the 2nd house from the 7H = wants/needs from your partner. In regards to sex, this is the house of deep emotion & orgasm. Here, you will find your deepest intimacy needs & also the things you secretly enjoy. 

Ex: I have an Aquarius 8H with Venus here & it's ruler Saturn again is in my Pisces 9H. 

- My idea of making love would be doing all the weird things that you normally wouldn't do. Involving sex toys, things we haven't tried, etc. Again though, I would prefer slow, sensual, unconditional love making (due to Saturn & Pisces).

The 9th House rules higher knowledge, things far away, beliefs, morals, culture, & spirituality. This house will influence how you view sex as a whole. With certain placements, you may like online sex or talking about the act of sex. Or, you may have traditional sexual morals & less open to kinky shit, etc.

Ex: My 9H is ruled by Pisces & Jupiter, which is in Capricorn 6H.

- This would honestly normally manifest one with traditional sexual morals. & to a degree, that is true! My Jupiter is square my Moon & I have grown up with high morals of preserving my virginity (this is the result of the purity of Jupiter, the Moon, & the 4H all in one). BUT, Jupiter also aspects my 8H Aquarius Venus, which makes me interested in sexual things & accepting of views that are not socially conventional (I discuss this for 11H as well). The 6H is a house of the self & the 9H is a house that connects us to others. So how this particular configuration manifests for me is: I have high morals for MYSELF (Capricorn Jupiter 6H) but I do not judge nor care about how others handle their sexual matters & I accept them as they are (Pisces 9H). Also to add, I have Saturn in my 9H & it is aspecting my 7H Neptune! This blurs & fades the boundaries, restrictions, & traditions of Saturn.

In sex matters, the 10th House will show how you are perceived by others sexually. Your image & your sexual reputation will be shown here.

Ex: Aries 10H with Part of Fortune & my South Node residing there & the ruler of the house is my 7H Aquarius Mars.

- I will always be perceived as sexy from those who find me attractive & those I am trying to attract!. I have a reputation of being a little unconventional & quirky sexually (Aquarius), but my partners normally like it or accept it (Part of Fortune & 7H).

The 11th House is your social circles, dreams, & what you support. In sex, this would reflect people around you & what kind of sex stuff you're for &/or against socially. This house would also cover things like 3somes, polyamory, & how you handle sexuality around friends. 

Ex: Taurus 11H & the ruler is my 8H Aquarius Venus. 

- I support all kinds of sexual expression. I am open to having a 3some, I accept polyamory even if I don't practice it, & my friends are usually sexual & open up to me about their sexual experiences. I would totally have sex or share sexual experiences with a friend as an Aquarius Venus being the ruler of my 11H, but I would have trouble with the friend detaching themselves from me & not becoming attracted to me romantically (effect of the 8H & Taurus).

✦ 12H ✦

In sex, the 12th House is gonna represent your subconscious sexual desires, sexual fantasies, sexual insecurities, & deep, sexy, unforgettable, consuming sex experiences. It is associated with the bed & bed pleasures, so here is where you merge with your partner(s) & where you seek the best sex of your life. Here is where you "Make Love".

Ex: Gemini & Mercury rule my empty 12H. Mercury is retrograde in my Aquarius 7H conjunct my entire 7H Stellium (Sun, Neptune, Uranus, Mars).

- I'm probably only going to have those unforgettable experiences with a committed partner. But with it being in the sign of Aquarius, the best sex will probably ones where we experiment & try new things. My sexual desires fall in line with Aquarius-type things, & my insecurities surround feeling like I'm going to sound stupid in what I say & how I react when engaging in sexual activities. 

    If you put all these things together in your chart, it will reveal how you react to sexual situations & the things that you are into. I hope that this was helpful!
