★ Understanding the Zodiac & their Role in Astrology ★

☆ Introduction ☆

    The Zodiac Signs are not what make up the whole picture in Astrology. What a Zodiac Sign's function is in Astrology is to show us HOW things are happening & HOW the parts of your chart are manifesting. This is important because as you learn more about Astrology, you learn that you are built up with energies of all the Zodiac Signs in varying amounts. You're not just 1 sign, you're an embodiment of all of them. HOW these signs are expressing themselves in your life are what makes you, you.

    Before you can even describe each of the 12 signs, you have to understand the different groups that the Zodiac Signs are broken down into. There are 3 groups:

- Polarity

- Mode

- Element 

Now I will describe each group & list what signs fall into them:

- Polarity +

This category splits the 12 signs into 2 groups of 6 based on their approach to life:

- Positive Signs are more extroverted & outwardly oriented.

  They prefer socializing & interaction with others.

- Negative Signs are more introverted & low-key.

  They prefer keeping to themselves or having smaller, close-knit friend groups.

- Cardinal Signs take initiative & are in charge of direction.

- Fixed Signs are stable & follow through with Cardinals directive.

- Mutable Signs are changeable, flowing, & adaptable to almost any situation.

☆ Assessing the Balance in a Chart ☆

    Now that you know how the signs are categorized, knowing the emphasis on these groups are important because you can assess the balance in an Astrology chart based on how much representation you have of each group in the chart!

- In a chart, having high POSITIVE energy makes one happy to be involved, busy, & needing outside stimuli.

- Having high NEGATIVE energy in a chart makes one more introverted & in-tune with their inner self & emotional experience.

- Heavy CARDINAL energy gives one a drive to achieve, initiate, & be their own boss.

- Heavy FIXED energy gives skills with stability & following through.

- Heavy MUTABLE energy gives one great adaptability & growth.

- High FIRE energy gives one self motivational capabilities.

- Low FIRE energy creates challenges with assertion.

- High AIR energy makes one gifted with communication & processing thoughts.

- Low AIR energy creates challenges with rational thought.

- High EARTH energy gives one good managing skills.

- Low EARTH energy challenges one with materialism.

- High WATER energy gives gifts of emotional connection & feeling.

- Low WATER energy creates challenges with emotional expression.

    After understanding these groupings, you can apply them to the signs to derive keywords on how to describe them! Use this formula - Lets take Aries for example:

Positive + Cardinal + Fire = Assertive, Determined, Quick, Enthusiastic, Passionate. 

& That works for all the signs! Now that you have a better understanding of the sign grouping & you can derive the way they expressed based on these groups, you can apply the terms toward the planets, becoming a tell of how they will react!
